Treating Cancer with Cannabis Oil

Cancer is one of the diseases where medicinal cannabis oil is widely used. Whether it is to alleviate side effects of regular treatments or in the hope that it contributes to the inhibition of the tumor. The question, however, is to what extent this product has an effect on a 100% hemp oil cancer treatment.

Reports have surfaced in recent years that the cannabis plant (Cannabis sativa / indica) or its individual active ingredients, the so-called cannabinoids, could cure cancer. Reference is made to individual patient reports or test results. It is therefore no wonder that cancer patients want to learn more about the potential benefits of treating cancer with cannabis oil.
Cannabis and cannabinoids can be helpful in cancer patients. They are used effectively for typical conditions that occur in the context of cancer. These include nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy, pain, anxiety, depression and insomnia. "Cannabis heals cancer": which is usually behind such statements

Again and again circulating on the Internet reports that treating breast cancer with cannabis oil (for example in the form of Rick Simpson oil) is a very effective cancer drug. This statement is substantiated either by individual case studies or by individual research results. However, these research results are not studies on humans, but rather studies on isolated cancer cells that come into contact with the active ingredients of the cannabis plant in the laboratory.

These studies are interesting, but have limited relevance in terms of the potential effect of cannabis on human cancers. They show that the active ingredients of cannabis kill cancer cells in laboratory tests. However, they do not prove that this would also be the case in the human body and what dosage would have to be used.
In case studies we have a similar problem: what leads to a cure in individual patients cannot be generalized. Nevertheless, these individual reports on treating lung cancer with hemp oil find recognition and the effects there of. For example, they are one reason why intensive research has been done on the anti-cancer effects of cannabis in recent years.

Cannabis in cancer: the cannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD)

Cannabis oil for breast cancer has recently been mentioned more frequently when it comes to the anti-cancer properties of cannabis. Unfortunately, only findings from animal experiments or studies on isolated tumor cells show the anti-cancer properties of cannabidiol. So far, attempts to investigate the efficacy of cannabidiol in human cancer patients are lacking.
Laboratory tests show that THC can inhibit the growth of various cancer cells, especially leukemia cells, cervix, breast and prostate cancer cells.  Also noteworthy are the effects of cannabidiol on cancer cells of the nervous system. Cannabidiol can inhibit the growth of neuro- and glioblastomas.
The effect of hemp oil on cancer is not fully understood. What is certain, however, is that cancer patients can benefit by treating cancer with cannabis oil and taking cannabidiol simultaneously.

Preclinical research on how to use cbd oil for cancer

Recent experiments on tumor cell cultures and animal cancer models suggest that a combination of cannabinoids and standard anti-tumor therapy may work better than any of these treatments alone. Many patients receive chemotherapy, treatment for the proliferation of diseased cells and thus has several times resulted in death.
As far as the first goal is concerned, clinically proven that tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) can cause nausea, vomiting and reduced appetite caused by chemotherapy. A very important application given the side effects of chemotherapy for some patients so severe that they stopped treatment. Other benefits for cancer patients are the analgesic, anxiety-inhibiting and sleep-inducing effects of cannabis.
Generally speaking, there are two reasons - which do not exclude each other - why cancer patients use cannabis: to alleviate the side effects of cancer therapy and the tumor-inhibiting potential of cannabinoids, the active substances in cannabis. This can be done in various ways, the most common of which is the duplication of the genetic material in the cells.
In addition to chemotherapy, many cancer patients that did not know how to use cbd oil for cancer went ahead and received radiation (radiotherapy) against their disease. Here, the tumor is exposed to very high radiation to trigger changes that stop cell division and cause even further diseased cells.

Clinical research examines whether cannabis can cure cancer

The question of whether cannabis can cure cancers can only be answered with clinical research. Clinical research means that the effect of some substance in human patients is being investigated. Clinical research is the basis for the use of drugs. In addition to the effect, it also investigates the tolerability and the correct dosage of an active substance. Every drug that conventional medicine uses has to undergo a series of clinical trials. If cannabis is to be approved as a cancer drug one day, a number of clinical trials will be required.
First, the bad news: So far, only a study was completed, which examines the effect of cbd oil lung cancer. This study is of limited value as very few patients participated. In addition, despite the treatment with cannabis, all patients have died from the cancer (glioblastoma). In individual patients, however, cancer growth slowed significantly.  The author of the study, the Spaniard Manuel Guzman, commented in the documentary "Cannabis against cancer" from an on air transmitter satellite:
We cannot be so naive and believe that cannabinoids can suddenly cure every cancer cell in every patient. I would say that it is likely and desirable that cannabinoids can work in certain situations. "
Now the good news: Currently, further clinical trials are being planned. The focus is on cancer of the nervous system. Five clinical trials with cancer patients are nearing completion. We will report on their outcome here in this article.


One of them already seems to provide interesting results. This is a study of patients with brain tumors receiving Sativex in addition to chemotherapy. The survival rate was able to improve significantly.

Treating Cancer with Hemp Oil

To date, there has been only one clinical experiment in which the combined effect of cannabinoids and an anti-tumor drug was analyzed. The trial was conducted in hospitals in the UK and Germany among patients with recurrent brain tumors. The goal was to investigate the safety and effectiveness of temozolomide combined with Sativex, a pharmaceutical cannabinoid drug with a 50/50 THC-CBD ratio.
Other types of cancer medicines such as treating cancer with hemp oil, which targets the cytoskeleton or dividing cells, appear synergistically with the body's own cannabinoid anandamide. In a gastric cancer model, a combination of the two substances was more effective in inducing apoptosis (pre-programmed natural cell death) than each of these two components alone.
This is the first specific study on the safety of a combination of treatments, but there have been experiments with medicinal cannabinoids on cancer patients who followed regular anti-tumor treatments. For example, seven studies have already been carried out with Sativex on the analgesic effect of cannabis among cancer patients. In none of these studies has a negative effect been shown by the combination.
Incidentally, one of the most common reasons for prescribing medical cannabis by a physician is to reduce pain, nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy. This of course suggests that the combination of both therapeutic strategies should not be a problem.
Hopefully, there will soon be clarity with open and honest cbd oil cancer testimonials as to whether cannabis can cure cancer.
In summary, research on isolated cancer cells shows the potential of cannabis and individual cannabinoids such as TBC and CBD in cancer. However, these results are not easily transferred to the treatment of humans. Whether cannabis can cure cancers in humans can only be verified through clinical trials.
Unfortunately, only a clinical study has been completed on this topic so far. The good news: more will follow soon. Five clinical trials will be released soon, with more planned for the future.

Treating Breast Cancer with Cannabis oil

Although breast cancer survival is relatively high, treatment is still far from being foolproof and researchers are constantly looking for new alternatives to surgery, medication, and / or chemo / radiation therapy.
Alternatively, cannabinoids such as cannabis oil for breast cancer can also help starve tumors down by affecting their ability to form blood vessels. Once they reach a certain size, tumors generally must form their own blood vessels to deliver oxygen and nutrients to the tumor site and remove waste material.
Research suggests that cannabis may be one of those alternatives. So the big question is, can cannabis really kill breast tumors? Cannabis and breast cancer
The big question to ask: Can the cannabis oil treatment (orally) cause tumor to grow an estrogen-positive breast cancer? This has been suggested on other sites, and the answer it is not necessarily true. The 1: 1 ratio does in fact make a difference in this case!
The answer : Estrogen-positive breast cancer. Suggesting the intake of cannabis oil can make estrogen positive breast cancer tumors shrink, not many people have not have had success with this. In fact, research proves exactly the opposite! The National Cancer Institute website has many articles on the anti-tumor effects of cannabinoids.
Recently, there are also more and more cancer patients who are treating breast cancer with cannabis oil for its potential tumor-inhibiting properties. Although certain cannabinoids have shown such reactions to animal cancer models, there is a lack of controlled clinical studies to confirm this effect in humans.
With more than 70,000 new cases annually, breast cancer is by far the most common cancer among women in Germany.
Like other cancers, breast cancer can affect women of all ages, races and socio-economic backgrounds. While breast tumors are obviously more common in women, in a few cases they can also occur in men.

Cannabis oil for Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is defined by abnormal growth of breast cells. More specifically, the most common types of breast cancer are those in the ducts (known as ductal or lobular cancer) that carry the milk to the nipple or into the glands that produce breast milk.
When breast cancer cells grow, they usually form a tumor, which is generally detected by x-rays or the detection of a nodule in the breast. Malignant tumors will grow rapidly and spread to surrounding areas and to more distant parts of the body. In contrast, benign tumors do not spread outside the breast and are usually not harmful. Breast cancer cells can spread through the blood or lymphatic system in other areas of the body.
If cancer cells manage to get into the lymph nodes close to the breast, they can also reach other lymph nodes in the body and possibly even attack other organs.
The treatment of cannabis oil for breast cancer can vary widely and depends on the specific type of tumor, the stage of the cancer, and the age of the patient. However, breast cancer is most often surgically treated to remove the cancerous tissue. These surgeries can then be treated with chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
Standard operations performed to treat breast cancer are:
• Mastectomy: removal of the entire breast
• Quadrantectomy: removal of one quarter of the breast
• Lumpectomy: removal of a small part of the breast
After the surgery, some patients request a breast reconstruction to repair and aesthetically beautify the treated area. Although it is very rare, breast cancer can also affect men.

Cannabis and Breast Cancer

Cannabis is increasingly receiving the attention of oncologists, researchers and cancer patients. When talking about cancer, cannabis is often mentioned as a treatment for side effects caused by cancer treatment or medications, including nausea, vomiting, or pain. Some results also suggest that cannabinoids may help to regulate tumor mass and its growth.
A study published in the journal Molecular Cancer Therapeutics in 2011 found that cannabidiol (CBD) can actually kill cancer cells. The in vitro study found that CBD inhibits the survival of estrogen receptors in the breast. This ultimately leads to the death of tumor cells, while little interfering with other healthy cells in the breast tissue. The study was conducted by researchers from the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, USA.

Curing breast Cancer with Cannabis Oil

Another study published by researchers at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco in the journal "Curing Breast Cancer with cannabis oil Research And Treatment" found similarly promising results.
This animal study also found that CBD could inhibit the growth of tumors. In addition, the study showed that CBD also helps reduce primary tumor mass while preventing metastasis (or spread) of other tumors.
Despite this, thousands of cancer patients worldwide - partly due to the spread of cancer have lessened or even completely eliminated the disease. In both cases (palliative use or anti-cancer effect) patients often wonder whether it is safe to combine regular treatments such as chemo-, immuno-, hormone therapy and radiation with the use of cannabis oil.
In individual studies, anti-cancer effects of cannabis were found. However, it is not yet clear whether these are sufficient to give cannabis a future as a cancer drug. Nevertheless, cancer patients can benefit from taking cannabis and cannabinoid medications.
The cannabinoids THC and CBD can be helpful to alleviate typical side effects of conventional cancer treatments unlike curing breast cancer with cannabis oil. These include nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. To treat symptoms that occur during cancer. These include, among other things, tumor pain, depressive moods, weight loss and anxiety.

Cannabis & pain

Cannabinoids can also influence appetite by influencing the endocannabinoid system. THC stimulates appetite while CBD tends to be appetite suppressant. THC-rich cannabis or high THC, nabilone, or dronabinol medications may be useful in cancer patients who lose their appetite due to cancer treatments. For cancer patients, it is important to treat loss of appetite in a timely manner. They depend on the regular and sufficient supply of energy and nutrients. If this is not guaranteed, it can lead to malnutrition and wasting. Both are associated with sometimes serious consequences for the patient.

Depressed mood and anxiety fears are further complaints from cancer patients who can be treated with cbd oil for lung cancer.
